Neil Teplica is the co-author of 100 Things to Do Before You Die: Travel Events You Just Can't Miss. He is also the CEO and Co-Founder of WhatsGoingOn.com, a Forbes Top 36 Web site focusing on festivals and events worldwide.
Currently, He is Managing Director of The Greenwich Group International’s Hotel Group. He has been a hotel real estate specialist since 1986. He has done extensive hotel investment banking, including capitalizations, equity brokerage, debt arrangement and financial consulting. He has been primarily responsible for $1 billion of hotel transactions, and he has assisted in over $1 billion of additional transactions. He has consulted for over 200 hotels.
Mr. Teplica began his real estate career in 1984, with Jones Lang Wootton USA. He became a Director of JLW in 1988, and founded and ran its International Hotels Division. In 1990, Mr. Teplica formed Teplica & Co., which did extensive hotel transaction and consulting work in the United States and Mexico. In 1994, he expanded his firm with two partners, to form Teplica, Wirth & Trapp Ltd. This firm continued with hotel intermediary activities, and became a principal in the acquisition of hotel property. It also expanded into Europe, where it was involved in a significant number of hotel assignments. In 2002, Mr. Teplica joined The Greenwich Group International as the Director of its Hospitality Group.
Mr. Teplica is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. He is also a CPA; prior to entering the commercial real estate world he received financial training with Arthur Andersen & Co.
