Intro: Anne Tyler is a Pulitzer Prize-winning U.S. novelist. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tyler grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduated at age nineteen from Duke University, and completed graduate work in Russian studies at Columbia University in New York City.
